The shared lounge at this accommodation is like a cozy living room where you can unwind and socialize with other guests. It felt like I was hanging out at a friend's house, sharing stories and laughter late into the night.
Squaeky beds.

Loved the shared lounge, where I could pretend to be social while silently judging everyone. , free parking for my shiny luxury car and a garden to remind me of how little I actually enjoy nature.
Just adored being woken up at 1am by a fellow guest unpacking like it was her wedding day. What a charming way to start my day, darling.

The double room at Villa Margarida was cozy and comfortable, making us feel right at home during our stay. The private bathroom was clean and had a great shower, helping us relax after a long day of exploring.
Personally, I found the hairdryer in the room to be a bit weak. Others might still find it sufficient though.

The location is very convenient, close to the bus and train stations, shops, and restaurants. the central location allows easy access to the city center and the ascensor to Santuario de Santa Luzia. the bedrooms are described as comfortable and clean, with plenty of space for clothes. the kitchen area is well-equipped and even offers the opportunity to share food items, such as bread and tomatoes. the hostess is kind and accommodating, allowing guests to rest in the living room and providing homemade jam.
The cleanliness of the bathroom and kitchen areas could be improved.

I highly recommend this hostel! My stay at Villa Margarida in Viana do Castelo was amazing. The female dorm with a private washroom and real beds gave it a cozy, homey feeling. The huge garden, outdoor chairs, and large living room with a TV were perfect for relaxation. The owner was incredibly kind and the best host I've encountered in Portugal. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable, and the kitchen had everything I needed. I even got to enjoy fresh tomatoes from their garden. I will definitely be returning!

I recently stayed at Villa Margarida in Viana do Castelo for a few days. This charming old house turned hostel offers a unique experience with no bunk beds, but instead, comfortable individual beds in spacious dorm rooms. The hostel is conveniently located near the city center, yet in a quiet area with all necessary amenities just a short walk away. I loved the beautiful garden surrounding the hostel, providing a lovely view of the sanctuary. The well-equipped kitchen and cosy dining area were perfect for preparing meals, and the bathrooms were clean and provided soap. The host, Margarida, was warm and friendly, making me feel right at home. it was a delightful stay and a refreshing change from the usual hostel vibe.
I can recommend this hotel.
